Carmen García Gordillo, he immerses us in a world of beauty and serenity through his paintings impregnated with a deep blue, as if it were the common thread that unites his creations.
The animals that appear in his paintings add a touch of enigma and symbolism. Cats, elegance, cunning and that duality between the domestic and the wild. Birds, symbols of freedom, suggest the search for the inner essence. And snakes, with their association with transformation and renewal, can allude to introspection and personal evolution.
In short, his work invites us to explore beauty, introspection and connection with nature through his palette of blues and his serene compositions

I am a painter and illustrator, I have always liked to paint very large paintings and I have combined exhibitions with some illustration work, but little by little my work as an illustrator has been gaining ground while the formats of my works have been decreasing, which is still an advantage in terms of storage, although I miss large sizes.
Now I paint a lot on paper with gouache, acrylic and colored pencils, I do woodcut and some pottery, but for most of my work, especially if they are editorial commissions, I use the ipad.
What interests me about art is the ability it has to convey emotion, both through color and form and the subject matter. I try to make my work have to do with my life and my concerns because through it I have the possibility of expressing myself, of understanding the world and understanding myself. Perhaps that is why in my work the protagonists are women who ask themselves questions, who search, who meditate, who practice yoga, protect the earth or protest against what they do not like.
