José Luis Merino is a notable illustrator whose work often fuses contrasting elements to provoke reflection and dialogue.
In his work titled 'The fight of words', Merino presents a powerful image where a gun and a pencil merge, symbolizing the eternal battle between violence and the word. This piece pays tribute to the memory of the poet Miguel Hernández, evoking his struggle through poetry in times of conflict.
The work stands out not only for its technique, but for the profound message about the power of words in the face of destruction.
