BLACK SUN is one of the many names given to Saturn, god of the harvest that represents the cycles of life, but also the relentless passage of time and, therefore, death.
To know it is to try to understand our meaning and our purpose, and to seek its influence is to embrace knowledge, even if it is through the darkness.
This is the germ that has inspired Rubenimichi in his third solo exhibition at La Fresh Gallery.
The Saturnian surrounds us. There are thousands of symbols that show us the way, they try to give us the answers. And although we do not want to see them, they all respond to a single language. Everything: that which refers to the good and the light, and that which represents the evil and the darkness.
On this approach Rubenimichi manage to approach that cosmic language, tracing the symbols, assuming them as their own and playing with their mystery. Because if there is one thing that fascinates Michi, Rubén and Luisjo, it is the hidden, the secret, the dark or the magical, which moves and dominates a good part of their work. And also all its rites, even applied to the creative process itself.
No one escapes it. There is something of sorcerers in this dark and, apparently, sympathetic trinity.
